Juer Deaths
Nicholas Juer buried 20 May 1779 Harbor Grace Newfoundland said to be 106 years old; he was a
complaintant to the growing Catholic population in Conception Bay and there
at the time of the burning of the Crocker's Cove Kennedy place in 1755. His
property was leased to Patrick Kennedy in 1798 North Side of Harbor Grace.

March 15, 1805 "Excerpts from the will of James Juer:
"my plantation situate at Harbour Grace now in possession of JAMES REW [sic Rowe?}
KNIGHT, THOMAS MAGHAR, MARY CONDON, RICHARD KEANS, PATRICK KENNEDY, STEPHEN
BENNETT and WILLIAM RICHARDS"

he sells it "unto JOHN BELLEY of Harbour Grace, aforesaid cooper". {sic BAILEY?}

"until my daughter ANN reaches the age of 21 or married"

"my wife ELIZABETH JUER" The will was dated March 15, 1805, and witnesses
were John Trapnell and William Lampen." From PANL, GN5/1/B/7, HG Estate Matters, Surrogate Court North District

"In 1806 we find an advertisement from Emma Thistle of Harbour Grace offering two large
plantations for sale on which there are wharves, stores and counting houses
as well as good residences. Near Kerry Lane we meet several houses where
Matthew Kennedy(or Kerney??? check this), Stephen Bennett, James Knight, Richard Cain, Thos. Magher,
Widow Condon, James Kenedy have their residences." (from the History of Harbour Grace/ Wm. Pynn"1806 " )

Also in the 1810 will of James Howell property is given to William son of Nicholas Juer a dwelling house and garden situate in Harbor Grace and in the possession of Thomas Maher. http://www.rootsweb.com/~cannf/cb_wills_jhowell.htm

*This confirms Thomas Meagher/Maher is in Harbor Grace until at least 1810.
